The Van Deren Family welcomes you to the Open A
Ranch (OAR), a unique working Montana cattle ranch and one of the
most private and enjoyable fly fishing and hunting properties in
Southwest Montana.
OAR is wide open spaces, beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, challenging trout streams and the solitude of an authentic working cattle ranch.
The OAR is run as a "winter place", where cattle graze during the winter on the plentiful grass and calve in the spring on the meadows sheltered by natural willow wind breaks.
In the summer and autumn, the cattle graze in the area's high mountain valleys, leaving the OAR to the anglers and hunters.
