Beaverhead County Comprehensive Plan; to include all resources upon
which county customs, cultures, and economy are dependent; provide
county government with a tool that will enable the county to

The (State of) Montana Conservation Seedling Nursery has released
their list of plant materials available for purchase and delivery in
March 2003. These materials can not be used for urban, landscaping or
ornamental purposes. The materials must be used for conservation
purposes, like shelter belts, stream bank stabilization or wildlife cover/feed.

coordination meeting for watershed groups in the Ruby, Beaverhead,
Big Hole and Jefferson watersheds.

The next meeting of the Beaverhead Watershed Group will be on May 6
at 7:00 at the Search and Rescue Building. Jim Hagenbarth from the
Big Hole Watershed group will join us. Since the BHWG has been in
existence for a much longer time, Jim will be able share some of the
projects they have worked up, what type of activities we might want
to undertake and what has been successful and maybe not as
successful. Also Lynn Anderson from the BLM office will discuss the
Wild and Scenic River project. Rivers and streams have been
identified as eligible; Lynn will share the next steps and what
exactly this designation means for our watershed.

The Dillon Field Office will host an Information Fair on April 9,
10, and 11, 2002 at the BLM office in Dillon. The purpose of the
Fair is to share information compiled to date that will be used to
develop the Dillon Resource Management Plan (RMP).
The event will run from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m each day and will
feature baseline resource information acquired by specialists in
wildlife, minerals, range management,forestry, recreation, soil,
water, air, and cultural resources. Most of the information will be
in map format. The same information will be available each day and
the public may view the information anytime during Fair hours.
Resource specialists will be available to discuss information and
answer questions, but no formal presentations are planned. You can
also use this event to discuss the Wild and Scenic River review
process and the recently released Draft Eligibility Report with BLM staff.
The Dillon Field Office is located at 1005 Selway Drive (behind the
Lions Den Restaurant) in Dillon. For more information, contact

Beaverhead County Commissioners, the Beaverhead County Planning
Board, and the Beaverhead County Resource Use Committee will hold a
joint public hearing on the 25 day of March 2002, at 7:00 p.m. in the
Search and Rescue Building.
The purpose of this hearing is to solicit public input regarding the
BLMs Draft Wild and Scenic Rivers Eligibility Report.

"scope" or identify wolf management issues as the state
prepares for the federal delisting of Montana's gray wolf population.
The Dillon session will be held from 6:30-9PM at the USFS

The Beaverhead Watershed Committee is holding an overview /
information gathering meeting on February 20 at 3:00 at the Search
and Rescue Building in Dillon. That is the first task in starting/developing
a watershed plan and is very necessary. The purpose of this meeting
is to identify sources of water quality information and explain what
relevant data is necessary to go into the plan.
